Formula 1 sport is preparing for a new era for 2022 and today we witnessed a closer reality, which F1 officially launched a remarkable model of full-sized 2022 F1 car at Silverstone circuit.
The official model car is look like smaller than existing F1 car and its clearly shows whole aerodynamic advantages. The design of the car is surprise in entire visible area, especially both front and rear wing of the machine.
F1 expecting radical rule changes will boost overall wheel-to-wheel battle, decreasing the effect of downforce-driven polluted air. Another major change is entry of 18-inch wheels after years of F1 cars using 13-inch tyre, and new profile will feature wheel rims.
“It feels like a very long time ago the FIA officially unveiled the regulations for the future of the sport, but after the one-year delay due to the pandemic it’s only 170 days to go until the start of 2022 when we will see the next generation of Formula 1 cars take to the track,” said F1 managing director of Motorsports Ross Brawn.
“There is huge excitement ahead of this new era, and while 2021 has been a great battle we still have cars struggling to follow each other during the race. The regulations for 2022 will address this problem and create an opportunity for closer battles and more wheel-to-wheel racing.”
“The combined effect of the new aerodynamic regulations and financial rules, in the form of the cost cap, will create the conditions for a more balanced championship and for the gaps across the grid to close.” He added.
F1 wants more exciting battles – FIA single-seater technical head Nikolas Tombazis said
“We want to make it more possible for cars to race each and follow each other and to have more exciting battles,” he said.
“We want to have tyres that enable people to fight each other without degrading or only giving a short interval for the person attacking to attack.
“They are simpler than the current cars because a lot of the small components have been removed, especially in front of the sidepods, the front wings are simpler.
“There is a diffuser going right under the car – a venturi channel type manner. There are tunnels under the sidepods from the front to the back.” Tombazis added
F1 driver’s reaction
Max Verstappen: “It’s interesting, it’s very different to what we are used to,” said F1 championship leader. “The most important thing is we improve the racing and if that’s the way forward I’m for that.
Lewis Hamilton: “2022 will be a serious challenge, getting used to a new era of car, and if it enables us to follow and race like it’s planned to it’ll be amazing for the fans and for the sport,” the Brit said.
