The Rural Development Secretariat (SDR) promotes the program «Promotion of Family Production» throughout the State, with the production of more than 1,500 vegetable gardens for the benefit of 6,000 people, which they are facing the health emergency by COVID-19 It guarantees the production of food for family consumption and the commercialization of the product which rural families in rural areas obtain extra income.
The head of the dependency, Ignacio España Novelo, signified the benefits of this strategy that has been implemented in various municipalities of the entity as a support to families to produce their own food in a self-sustaining environment with which they acquire a healthy lifestyle and harmony with the environment.
«The project is carried out with great success and is intended to be applied in the urban area, where more than 300 gardens will be built so that the population can integrate into this system in the production of their own food without the need for large spaces, and in the face of some contingency they have their proper food, «he added.
The SDR with the support of its technicians provides training to families to start the garden, as well to generate natural fertilizers, after which it provides seed packages such as radish, coriander, lettuce, beets, onion and cucumber; Finally, the accompaniment is carried out so that the garden products are of quality for consumption.
Spain Novelo, stressed that one of the priorities of the current administration headed by the Governor, Carlos Miguel Aysa González, is that producers are given tools and production alternatives so that they can carry out their activities in a environmental sustainability and maintainability.
