STRENGTHENS PEMEX MANAGEMENT FOR MEDICAL SUPPLIES FOR COVID-19 CARE

Ciudad del Carmen, Camp. – In the framework of the actions that Petróleos Mexicanos carries out as a containment measure of COVID-19 and in response to the efforts made by the company’s general director, Octavio Romero Oropeza, in close coordination with the Government of the State of Campeche and the Municipal Presidency of Carmen, various medical supplies were delivered to the Sanitary Jurisdiction Number 3 of this entity and to five hospitals located in Ciudad del Carmen. These inputs were donated by four companies in the hydrocarbon sector.

On April 27, a part of this donation reached the «María del Socorro Quiroga Aguilar» General Hospital, the Hospital of the Secretary of the Navy and the General Hospital of Pemex, while last week the ISSSTE medical centers received donations, of the IMSS and the Sanitary Jurisdiction No. 3 of the State Health Secretariat, thus strengthening the care capacities provided by health workers to the Carmelite population in the framework of actions to face the pandemic by COVID-19.

The donations of the material and medical supplies were made by the companies Grupo Industrial DURANDCO, Grupo CEMZA, COTEMAR SA de CV AND DEMAR Instaladora y Constructora SA de CV, after the efforts made by the General Directorate of PEMEX at the request of the Governor of the State, Carlos Miguel Aysa González and the Mayor of Carmen, Oscar Rosas González.

In this way, companies linked to the hydrocarbon sector demonstrate their commitment and solidarity with the welfare of the Carmelites.

To date, these companies that provide their services to PEMEX have donated 38,000 latex gloves, 7,420 N95 mouthguards, 81,442 three-layer and simple mouthguards, 2,100 QX hats, 3,632 QX gowns, 1,000 disposable sheets. , 1,200 drippers, 6,200 syringes, 1,000 masks, 1,220 disposable coveralls, 150 Medical Grade bags, among other medical supplies and materials. It should be noted that other oil companies have committed support for medical supplies, which will be announced at every opportunity.

The State-owned production company acknowledges the medical personnel who participate in this health contingency, who make their best effort to preserve the health of rural families and invites them to strictly follow the recommendations issued by the Ministry of Health of the Federal Government : keep a healthy distance, continuous hand washing, use of mouth covers and, above all, “STAY AT HOME”.
