The Secretariat of National Defense through the Commandos of the X Military Region and 33 / a. Military Zone, informs public opinion that within the framework of the National Plan for Peace and Security 2018-2024, and to contribute to the National Strategy for the Prevention of Addictions «Together for Peace», on April 25, 2020, elements of the The Mexican Army carried out a assurance for a possible drug in Escárcega – Chetumal highway section.
The events occurred derived from information provided by the aerial surveillance system in national territory, when military personnel established a Military Security Post, located on the mentioned highway section, carrying out a review with the support of a binomial canophilic to a tractor truck coming from Chetumal Q Roo, marking positive, so thorough exploration was carried out, detecting that on the roof of the vehicle’s box:
• 300 packages containing a white powder with characteristics similar to cocaine.
For this fact, a person was arrested, who along with the car and the possible drug were placed at the disposal of the corresponding authorities, pending the official weight and chemical opinion of the insured.
The foregoing is the result of the intense work carried out by the personnel of this Armed Institute, as well as their loyalty and willingness always in the interest of fulfilling the assigned missions.
