President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced that it will issue a decree to declare national mourning on this October 31, November 1 and November 2 for the Mexicans who died from the Covid-19 pandemic, so the national flag will be waved at half mast.
In a press conference, the head of the federal Executive informed that a Offering will be in the National Palace to remember all those who died from coronavirus, which in Mexico it has left almost 90 thousand.
“ There is a lot of pain that this pandemic is leaving us, because there are many deceased, acquaintances, friends; now the Senator Joel Molina, from Tlaxcala, has passed away, an endearing person, a man of integrity, with convictions. He helped me found Morena in Tlaxcala;A dear teacher, 10 days ago, César Núñez, also founder of Morena in Guerrero, social fighter.. He said with pride: “I am a graduate of the Ayotzinapa Normal”. Many, many have lost their lives, that is not to say almost 90 thousand, it is not a number, they are people and there is a lot of sadness in relatives, friends, “said the president.
“I am going to propose a decree so that we dedicate three days of national mourning, on the occasion of Day of the Dead. So it will be on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, and we are going to do a Offering dedicated to them, here in the National Palace, for the 1st and 2nd (November), an offering that will be with people keeping distance. It is a tribute, but the flag will be raised at half mast Saturday, Sunday and Monday ”.
In the National Palace, the president indicated,to visit the offering -which will be installed from November 1- in the National Palace there will be sanitary protocols to avoid contagion.
President López Obrador reported that due to this tribute he will only travel to Morelos on Friday and will not make any work tour through the interior of the country on the weekend to accompany this national tribute.
“I’m not going to go out (on a work tour), I’m going to Morelos on Friday and I’m going to save myself, nothing more. I will be here for this tribute on Monday morning, November 2, but the offering will be there from November 1 ,he said.”
