Places Campeche at the forefront at the regional level in terms of rehabilitation and early stimulation

After having been abandoned for almost five years, the State Center for Comprehensive Rehabilitation (CERI) was commissioned today by Governor Carlos Miguel Aysa González and his wife Victoria Damas de Aysa, president of the Board of Trustees of the DIF State System, through the investment of more than 250 million pesos. The center has state-of-the-art equipment and places Campeche at the forefront at the regional level in terms of rehabilitation and early stimulation.

From now on, this same building concentrates and improves the care that the former Rehabilitation and Special Education Center (CREE) and the Regional Center for Child Development and Early Stimulation (Ceredi) provided separately to the population, offering 21 services doctors, including two new ones: X-rays and ophthalmology.

It should be noted that the State Health Safety Committee determined to enable the facilities where the CREE worked, to attend to the epidemiological contingency COVID-19 and guarantee the population a greater response and control of cases that may arise in the coming days.

After unveiling the inaugural plaque of the center that bears the name of Professor Elsa María Sanromán de Sansores, the Aysa Damas couple made a tour of the facilities to verify the operation of the teams and talk with medical staff, physical therapists and administrative staff.

The center has been abandoned since September 2015 and it was Aysa González who, upon assuming the position of governor, issued instructions to the Ministry of Health to reactivate the project and put it at the service of the population.

While visiting various rooms in the outpatient area, the president was informed by the Health Secretary, José Luis González Pinzón, that the administrative offices will be operating on the second floor of the building, which will generate significant savings in resources that were previously used to the payment of rent and now they will be channeled to strengthen the facilities of the CERI, in addition, he explained that the workforce that is currently 97 employees will increase to 200.

The president started the tour, accompanied by his wife and the Secretary General of the Government, Pedro Armentía López, in the mechanotherapy area, where one of the most modern equipment for therapeutic exercises, muscle strengthening and rehabilitation of mobility arches is located. .

Later, in the area of ​​child development and early stimulation, he visited the chamber of audiological studies where various tests are carried out, such as the auditory screen, and he got to know the sensory stimulation room that has high-tech equipment used to integrate patients of two to five years in the social environment.

CERI Director General, Félix Gustavo Flores Justiniano, reported on the 14 early rehabilitation and stimulation medical services that will be offered to patients six years of age and older, such as rehabilitation medicine, human communication, rheumatology and ophthalmology; consultations in psychology, social work, dentistry, nursing and nutrition, and physical, language, occupational, and early multiple stimulation therapies.

Likewise, he said that for the care of patients from zero to five years old, the following seven medical services will be provided: nursing, pediatrics, nutrition, psychology, neuropsychiatry, audiology and early multiple stimulation, sensory and language stimulation therapies.

During the journey, the Chief Executive was informed that the therapeutic tank for hydrotherapy exercises, the dry whirlpool tubs to relax muscle tension and activate blood circulation, as well as the equipment, have been put into operation. shoulder, elbow and hand robot for people with motor and neurological problems.

There are also instruments for the prevention of risk of falls, with a system of evaluation and functional rehabilitation of activities of daily living and a complete ophthalmology unit.

During the tour, in which the general director of the DIF State System, Sonia María Castilla Treviño, was also present, Flores Justiniano mentioned that CERI will provide its services from Monday to Friday from 6:30 in the morning to 8:30 at night .
