Today, the polar air mass that drives the new cold front will cause a drop in temperature, with minimum values of -10 to -5 degrees Celsius and frosts in the mountains of Chihuahua, Durango and Sonora; from -5 to 0 degrees Celsius with frosts in the mountains of Aguascalientes, Baja California, Coahuila, State of Mexico, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Nuevo León, Puebla, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Tamaulipas and Zacatecas, and from 0 to 5 degrees Celsius with possible frosts in elevated areas of Mexico City, Jalisco, Michoacán, Oaxaca, Tlaxcala and Veracruz.
During the day, the Cold Front Number 18 will cross the north and northeast of the Mexican Republic, and will gradually interact with a low pressure channel on the southwest of the Gulf of Mexico, which will maintain intervals of showers (from 5.1 to 25 millimeters [mm]) in Oaxaca, Tamaulipas and Veracruz, as well as isolated rains (from 0.1 to 5 mm) in Mexico City, State of Mexico, Guerrero, Michoacán and Tabasco.
Wind gusts of 60 to 70 kilometers per hour (km / h) with possible dust dusts, are forecast for Coahuila, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas, and with gusts of 50 to 60 km / h in Baja California and the Gulf of California, Chihuahua and the coasts of Quintana Roo and Yucatán.
The entry of humidity from the Caribbean Sea will increase the potential for heavy rains (25 to 50 mm) in southern Quintana Roo, intervals of showers in Chiapas and isolated rains in Campeche and Yucatán.
However, during the afternoon maximum temperatures of 35 to 40 degrees Celsius are estimated in Guerrero and Michoacán.
