To promote and position the state in the Meetings Tourism segment, the Tourism Secretariat (SECTUR) headed by its holder Mauricio Arceo Piña, participated in the inauguration of the Second edition of the Shallow and Deepwater Congress, which was hosted again in the municipality of Carmen.

The second edition of Shallow and Deepwater takes place from October 12 to 14 at the Carmen XXI Convention Center, and brings together more than 2,400 professionals from 250 local, national and international oil service providers and operators from 26 countries. , which play an active role in the value chain of the global energy sector.

The initiative of the congress is to join forces in the oil industry, promoting the exchange of knowledge on the matter and fostering commercial and technological alliances to enhance the development of local and national human talent, and increase new business opportunities throughout the value chain. for a robust and prosperous industry.

The Ministry of Tourism carried out its participation with the promotional stand, in which the main objective during said congress of international stature is to promote our destination among visitors, so that after the event where exhibitors, speakers and suppliers participate, they decide to visit and visit the tourist attractions of the municipality of Carmen and the state. Also position Campeche as a destination for conferences and conventions.

For his part, the head of SECTUR, participated in the opening cut of said event, in which he commented that it is of utmost importance to support and work hand in hand with the events of congresses and conventions, since the tourism sector was very affected by the pandemic, and it is time to strengthen this segment to detonate the state’s economic activity.

The presidium was made up of the Secretary of Economic Development, Fernando Gamboa Rosas, representing the Governor of Campeche, Layda Sansores San Román; the State Secretary of Tourism, Mauricio Arceo Piña; the Mayor of Carmen, Pablo Gutiérrez Lazarus; Shallow and Deepwater CEO Jennifer Granda; the Ambassador of Belize in Mexico, Óscar Lorenzo Arnold; the General Director of the Comprehensive Port Administration of Campeche, Agapito Ceballos Fuentes. Ambassador Rafiu Adejare Bello, from Nigeria, also attended.
