Baby boom! 2020 is set to see the arrival of some of Hollywood and Royalty’s littlest stars. This year, celebrity and royals shared the exciting news that their families are expanding by, one, two or a few. While some of the announcements were grand and sweet, others decided to keep the details close and keep the world on their feet. From the first-time parents like Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik , to the pros like Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin . These are the baby announcements from 2020.
Dulce Maria and Paco Alvarez
Rebelde star Dulce Maria and her producer hubby Paco Alvarez have announced that they are expecting! The Mexican singer, songwriter, actress and author took to her Instagram to share the happy news with her over 7.2 million followers. She joyfully states, “There you have it!! In the middle of so much chaos and uncertainty in the world Paco and I want to share some news that is filled with love, happiness and gratitude.”
She continues to share how she and her husband are “immensely happy” that they are going to be parents, and that although they recognize that many are suffering due to the pandemic, they trust God’s timing with their good news. The star, who is said to be the great niece of the iconic Frida Kahlo, married her husband in November 9, 2019, in a private ceremony in Jojutla, Mexico.
Romee Strijd and Laurens van Leeuwen
A sweet little angel is on the way for Romee and her husband Lauren! The Victoria’s Secret angel shared the news with a picture of her showing off her bump in a form-fitting dress while her husband stands behind her. The arrival of their first child will be extra special, as the baby was concived after the model suffered with fertility issues. In the post, which started “WE’RE HAVING A BABY,” Romee shared that she had been diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic ovary syndrome) in 2017.
After researching the disease, the 24-year-old relized that she was putting too much stress on her body. After scaling back on high-intensity workouts, not restricting certain foods and learning to be kind to her body, she was in a place where she could carry her baby.
Romee’s announcement also came with a message to woman who are dealing with the same issue. “& to the women trying to conceive, believe in yourself and be nice for yourself and your body and don’t let those thoughts get to you to much .” No further details about the baby have been revealed.
Karla Souza
Karla Souza and her husband Marshall Trenkmann are expecting a second child! The How To Get Away With Murder actress took to Instagram to share the exciting news alongside a couple of sweet photos with their two-year-old daughter, Gianna.
“Those of you who have already watched module one of #Unleashed already know this, but building this course has also coincided with my pregnancy,” she captioned. “Opening up in such a deep way while creating life has been such a gift and I’m honored to continue sharing, growing, and UNLEASHING with you all over the course of the next four weeks.”
Rooney Mara and Joaquin Phoenix
Rooney Mara, 35 and Joaquin Phoenix, 45 are reportedly expecting their first child! Page Six reports the Carol actress may be as far as six months along, according to a source. Although the couple has been lying low amid the pandemic, Rooney has recently been spotted wearing loose clothing to cover her baby bump.
“She’s the only girl I ever looked up on the internet,” Joaquin once shared during an interview with Vanity Fair. “We were just friends, email friends. I’d never done that. Never looked up a girl online.”
The Joker star and Rooney met on the set of Spike Jonze’s Her but didn’t start dating until they reunited in the movie Mary Magdalene. They got engaged in July 2019.
Gianluca Vacchi and Sharon Fonseca
On May 10, the entreprenuer-turned-dj had exciting Mother’s Day news to share with his and fiancée Sharon Fonseca’s combined 16 million+ followers. In a joint Instagram video, the couple sat lovingly next to each other as they revealed they are expecting their first baby together.
The Italian businessman, who recently put his $11 million bachelor pad on the market, said: “Today, is Mother’s Day, and of course, my first thought goes to my mother. But then, I even have to say, that whenever in my life I thought about a potential mother for my son, that woman had Sharon’s characteristics. I’m very happy to announce and share with you that Sharon and I are waiting for a baby. She will be the mother that I always dreamed about for my baby.”
Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross
Baby bliss! The happy couple shared that they are expecting baby number 3. “We are pregnant and we are so excited to share it with everyone,” the post read. “Baby #3. During this unprecedented time, we know pregnant women may be under greater stress which is why we are supporting @marchofdimes Mom and Baby #Covid19 Intervention and Support Fund.
The pair’s latest bundle with join older brother Bronx, 11, who Ashlee shares from a previous relationship and four-year-old sis Jagger. Equally excited about the news are the baby’s famous aunties Tracee Ellis Ross and Jessica Simpson, who each took to social media to celebrate.
Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik
Runway baby! Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik will be first time parents. The former One Direction star and the supermodel’s baby news broke in April. According to reports, the 25-year-old is 20 weeks along.
The ultra- private pair, who rekindled their romance in 2019, have kept all details under wraps. Fans took noticed and suspected that the cover girl’s quarantine birthday celebration may have doubled as a gender reveal. In the photo featuring her and Zayn, Gigi holds on to balloons with blue and pink ribbons tied to them.
Katherine Schwarzenegger and Chris Pratt
Chris, 40, and Katherine, 30, are set to welcome their first child together. The Avengers star and the author got married during a private ceremony in June 2019.
Shortly after the news broke, Katherine was spotted showing off her baby bump during a social distancing bike ride with her hubby. Chris is father to eight-year-old Jack from his previous marriage to Anna Faris.
Hilaria Baldwin and Alec Baldwin
Sweet milestones! Hilaria and Alec are set to welcome their fifth child. After suffering back-to-back miscarriages in 2019, the Mom Brain host made the sweet reveal with a video from her ultrasound.
“Sound up…I’ll let the baby do the talking because I don’t have the worlds to express how this sound makes me feel.” Shortly after, the proud mom shared that she has successfully made the halfway mark with her little bundle. Alec and Hilaria’s latest addition will join their children Carmen, Leo, Rafael and Romeo. As well as Alec’s oldest daughter Ireland.
Leighton Meester and Adam Brody
And a baby makes four! Leighton and Adam are expecting their second child. The Gossip Girl star seemingly confirmed the news during a social distancing stroll with her leading man that showed off her baby bump. The pair, who tied the knot in 2014, are also parents to Arlo Day Brody.
Kevin Hart and Eniko Parrish
Hearts are full! Kevin and Eniko are expecting a baby girl together. The pair took to social media to share the news with a shot of Eniko’s baby bump. “Baby #2 in the midst of all of this we’re counting our blessing and couldn’t be more grateful.” Kevin and Eniko are parents to two-year-old Kenzo. Kevin is also father to Heaven, 15, and Hendrix, 12.
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom
Katy made the fabulous reveal during the release of her Never Worn White music video. In the visuals, Katy holds on the her baby bump. Shortly after the announcement, the American Idol judge took to social media to share that she and Orlando are “excited and happy” for their bundle.
Katy and Orlando shocked fans again when they shared that they would be welcoming a little girl. Orlando is dad to eight-year-old Flynn, whom he shares with his ex-wife Miranda Kerr

House Jonas is getting a little bigger! Joe, 30, and Sophie, 23, are set to welcome their first child. The couple, who tied the knot in 2019, have yet to confirm the news. Baby Jonas will be the first for the Sucker singer and the Game of Thrones star.

It’s time to grow up! Jesse shared the exciting news that he and Justin will welcome a child this year. “Actually, this is something I haven’t even mentioned to anyone,” the Modern Family star told James Corden. “I’m expecting a baby in July with my husband.”
