Cuban player Randy Arozarena, runner-up with the Tampa Bay Rays and MVP of the American League in his rookie season in the Major Leagues, who set some records in the last World Series and who played with his team against the champion Dodgers of Los Angels; he visited the offices of the general director of the Campeche Sports Institute (IAM), Jorge Carlos Hurtado Montero. Becoming the first rookie outfield player to earn the Most Valuable Player nomination in a Championship Series in Major League Baseball history, born in Cuba, originally from Arroyos de Mantua, a small town in Pinar del Río; Arozarena arrived a few years ago in search of a new life in baseball in Mexico, being admitted to the Yucatan team, where he developed his power and was later signed by the San Luis Cardinals; and subsequently, he passed with Tampa, becoming a phenomenon in the 2020 World Series. During his visit, the Antillean player spoke extensively with the head of Indecam, emphasizing a project on the development of Campeche players, in which they would benefit from a special monitoring and strengthening work program in all aspects. Likewise, Arozarena made a short tour of the High Performance State Center, where he said he was surprised about the infrastructure that are available for the campechanos athletes; and he congratulated the Executive Power of the State of Campeche, headed by Carlos Miguel Aysa González, for keeping the training centers for athletes in optimal conditions and for being one of the most supportive of sport in general. He signed balls and bats, while he received a shirt and cap from the Piratas de Campeche club from Hurtado Montero and the sports director of the filibusteros, Gabriel Lozano Berrón. In this act, he was accompanied by his representative and other personalities.
