Governor Carlos Miguel Aysa González met, the representative of the World Health and Pan American Organization in Mexico, Cristian Morales Fuhrimann, acknowledged that Campeche has implemented successful measures to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, which could be implemented as an example so that they can be replicated in other entities of the country and even in nations of the region.
After the meeting with the governor, which took place in the Government Palace, the official specified in an interview that his visit responds to the interest of the international institution in learning about the experience that Campeche has had, since it was the first state to reach the green color of the traffic light epidemiological and remain so for two consecutive months.
He pointed out that the key to success in Campeche lies in the approach given to primary health care. “You have to use the community brigades, you have to go out to look for suspected cases of COVID-19, you have to identify the warning signs before they deteriorate so that people do not die in hospitals and that is what we have to do, «he said.
He stressed that now is the time to consolidate what has been achieved, so it is necessary for people to commit to taking care of their health and their loved ones.
He made a special call to young people to also act responsibly and understand that, although they feel stronger in the face of COVID-19, they can transmit the virus to their parents and grandparents.
