The Governor of Hidalgo, Omar Fayad, reported that he tested positive for COVID-19, a fact that has him quarantined at his home.
Through his Twitter account, the local president assured that both he and the people with whom he has had contact are following the protocols established by the Ministry of Health.
He also indicated that from his home he continues to work and direct the «efforts of my government to control the epidemic in Hidalgo.»
Just at dawn, the governor reported that in the DIF Children’s Hospital, to which he went, there is a suspicious case: a 5-month-old minor who is completely isolated.
Also in the early hours of last Friday, Fayad Meneses visited the General Hospital of Pachuca, where he checked that the isolation measures were being complied with in the hospital in the presence of COVID-19 cases, in addition to visiting the Pachuca Bus Station, where asked that the restraining measures be followed.
On March 19, the state president attended the morning press conference of the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, in the National Palace, where they disclosed the details of the new Santa Lucia airport.
The Secretary of National Defense (Sedena), Luis Crescencio Sandoval, also attended this meeting; the Secretary of the Navy (Semar), Rafael Ojeda Durán; the Secretary of Communications and Transportation (SCT), Javier Jiménez Espriú; the secretary of Urban Development (Sedatu), Román Meyer; and the person in charge of the work of Saint Lucia, Ricardo Vallejo Suárez.
Likewise, in recent days he held meetings with several members of his state cabinet, such as the Secretary of the Government, Simón Vargas; of the Public Policy, José Luis Romo; of Public Education, Atilano Rodríguez, of Mobility and Transport, José Luis Guevara Muñoz, among others.
The authorities have confirmed the death of a man from Hidalgo as a result of the coronavirus: a 47-year-old adult who had been admitted on March 15 at the General Hospital of Pachuca, however, voluntarily and with consent, his family decided to transfer him to the Hospital ABC of Mexico City, where he finally passed away.

Until this Friday, the director of epidemiological information of the Ministry of Health, Christian Zaragoza Jiménez, confirmed four deaths from COVID-19 in Mexico, bringing the number to 12.
In addition, the Ministry of Health indicated that until the last cut of this day 717 cases were confirmed, 3,542 have been discarded and 2,475 are under suspicion.
In the state of Hidalgo, there have been 12 cases with the disease, plus Fayad’s.
