JOSÉ POOX PERALTA, SILVER AND BRONZE IN THE WORLD U-17 WEIGHT

The Campechano José Poox Peralta obtained this afternoon two medals in the Lima 2020 Online Weightlifting World Cup, U-17 category, being Silver in Clean and Jerk and Bronze in Total, in the 55 kilogram division, event held in Dome I of the CEDAR and chaired by Jorge Carlos Hurtado Montero, general director of the Sports Institute of Campeche (INDECAM) who was accompanied by the mayor of Champotón, Daniel León Cruz, the Secretary of Education in the State, Ricardo Koh Cambranis and the deputy Alvar Ortiz Random.

The high-level competition was decided in the third lift of each competitor and the folksy national team, after doing 96 kilograms in the Start, set out to improve in the Clean & Jerk, where little by little he was climbing places until he was among the three first, lifting 129 kilograms, a personal record, with which he secured the Silver medal, taking the Bronze in the Total with 225 Kgs.

The champion was the Kazakh Auyelkhanov Ablay and the Romanian Krupla Florin Cosmin second place, where the results were combined with the Mexican to divide the medals in the modalities that are awarded.

At the end of the competition, the outstanding athlete was congratulated by Hurtado Montero as well as coach Javier Tamayo Torres and the entire coaching staff; officials urged him to keep working to stay on the national team. On November 14, the athlete Diego Ochoa Chan will be competing in the 63 kilograms, where the medals will be sought again in this Online World Cup.
