At a press conference, the head of the Incumbent of Tourism (SECTUR), Jorge Manos Esparragoza, presented the actions carried out by the Secretariat of Tourism during the Covid19 health contingency.
He noted that more than 45 online seminars were held, in which 1500 people participated in tour operators, meeting planners, travel agencies and airlines , among which PriceTravel, Creatur, Travelin, PCO, National Hosts, Petra stand out.
It should be noted that these seminars were held jointly with the municipalities, with whom, in manner periodically, virtual meetings have been held with directors of municipal tourism, to update the hygiene guidelines and protocols launched by the federal authorities; as well working on issues of State promotion.
Likewise, the incumbent cited media in which the Secretariat of Tourism has had a presence during the contingency, these being: Sports Tourism, El Castor, AmaTravel, Aeromexico Travelmall, etc; in addition to campaigns with Dish (“A la Vive México”), Price Travel (“Campeche at the Distance”); Sectur Federal and Visit México (“Think in Mexico, think in Campeche”) and the Magazine México Unknown.
He also announced that he has worked in three phases, the first, from the start of the Safe Distance, # Stay at Home campaign was launched on social networks, with the aim of maintaining the presence of the Campeche destination among the tourist markets, the second will be implemented from the start of tourist activities based on the signaling of the health authorities, is to encourage local tourism called «Know your state», in which two characters, Zazil and Balam, invite us to know the tourist attractions of the entity, and the third phase will be aimed at national tourism, «You will surely be surprised.»
He mentioned that he works in coordination with representatives of hotel associations, restaurants, travel agencies, tourist guides, executives of tourist companies, in order to disseminate the Protocols and Guidelines for the reopening of the tourism sector established by the Federation.
He stressed that the first stage of the Clean Point certification process began, endorsed by the Federal Secretariat of Tourism, in which lodging establishments that are interested in implementing quality processes in good hygiene and safety practices participate, it is important to be prepared, be very responsible and be aware of the traffic lights that are being updated week by week and have authorization for the restart of tourist activity by the health authorities.
