GRADUALLY BEGINS ECONOMIC REACTIVATION; HOTEL SECTOR FIRST TO OPEN

Campeche will start next week gradually and applying strict sanitary measures to reactivate its economic sector. Starting Friday the 12th the hotel industry will resume activities at 25 percent of its capacity and on Thursday the 18th the restaurant industry will start, Governor Carlos Miguel Aysa González announced at the meeting of the State Coordinating Center COVID-19.

In addition, based on the recommendations of the State Health Safety Committee, it was informed that the textile manufacturing sector will expand its production activities by 50 percent and the Dry Law will be lifted on Tuesday 9, with official disposition that from that day the selling of alcoholic beverages will be in closed pack and will be sold only from Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Governor said that the reopening of activities will be accompanied by strict application with sanitary measures and action protocols to prevent outbreaks of contagion of the coronavirus.

During the meeting, followed up where the effects of the rains have generated in the entity , he specified that the hotels that will restart activities with 25 percent of their capacity will only be able to accommodate guests associated with essential economic activities. The tourist accommodation will be closed, as well  the food service to the general public and the recreational spaces that exist in the establishments themselves.

Aysa González pointed out that in the midst of the pandemic and the rainy season and tropical cyclones, it is necessary to guarantee the health and life of the people.

He requested to the campechanos to continue applying sanitary measures to avoid getting infected by coronavirus, as well  to follow the recommendations of the civil protection authorities.

The Health Secretary, José Luis González Pinzón, pointed out that although in some localities the rains caused damage to the medical units, the attention to the inhabitants continues to be offered 100 percent.

He specified that the COVID-19 traffic light system keeps the state on red alert but the health authorities have determined that it is possible to initiate the economic reactivation in stages, abiding by sanitary measures and protocols actions.

He explained that the sale of alcoholic beverages will restart on Tuesday of next week with the requirement to the businesses that it will only be in closed packaging and they must make adjustments to their properties.

Before, the Secretary of Civil Protection, Edgar Hernández Hernández, reported that Cristóbal, now turned into a tropical depression, crossing the state again to enter the Gulf of Mexico on its pathway to the North of the continent, generating some rains.

He presented the update of shelters enabled so far, reporting that there are already 19 that are open and gives shelter to 1212 people. Hopelchén has six in operation, Carmen seven, Calakmul two, and Calkiní, Campeche, Escárcega and Champotón one, respectively. He also reported that the state’s rivers remain at their ordinary levels.

Representing the SCT Center, Jesús Armando Araiza reported some damage to the federal highway infrastructure. He said that in Villahermosa-Escárcega, at kilometer 194, there are sheets of water caused by the growth of the Chumpán river; landslides, crumbling of some hills and sheets of water are registered in Campeche-Umán, and on the Campeche-Carmen road the sea has caused cuts in the asphalt layer.

From the part of ,Pemex authorities reported that throughout the tropical storm Cristóbal, the workers remained in well safety and no damage was reported in the oil platforms.
