Governor Carlos Miguel Aysa González again extended the call to the people of Campeche to extreme the application of COVID-19 prevention measures, and take special care of people who suffer from chronic conditions such as overweight, diabetes and high blood pressure, due to the high risk they run of becoming seriously ill.
The convocación of the Governor occurred this morning in a reunion at the Table for the Construction of Peace, where he also stands out the determination that Petróleos Mexicanos took to disembark its workers and the supplier companies that work offshore, as well as to extend the times on duty at marine facilities, as they will help prevent the proliferation of the coronavirus in the state.
He stressed that it is substantial that in the third phase of the pandemic, people severely apply the recommendations that the health authorities have given to lower the contagion curve, and keep under observation and care the one that seems some type of chronic disease
José Antonio Tovar Iglesias, manager of Health Security in the Pemex Marine Region, explained in detail the disembarkation program for the marine platforms and specified that none of the first 259 workers who came down from the facilities yesterday presented symptoms of contagion.
He commented that the preventive protocol is applied in different sanitary filters that were placed on platforms, boats and the maritime terminal, and includes the obligatory medical review for all of those who descend.
In his opportunity, the Health Secretary, José Luis González Pinzón, mentioned that in the state there are currently 28 active cases, 52 recovered and 14 people have deceased.
He emphasized that we must maintain alert and continue to apply prevention measures because Campeche is the entity in the southeast that represents the greatest risk of vulnerability to COVID-19, given that 50 percent of the population is overweight; 10 percent, diabetes, and 14 percent, high blood pressure.
The executive secretary of the State Council of Public Security, Fernando Bolívar Galera, reported that, by decision the authorities of communities ,77 towns in the state were totally or partially closed the entry of foreign people.
In the meeting was attended by the Secretary General of the Government, Pedro Armentía López; the general director of the DIF State System, Sonia Castilla Treviño, and the delegate of federal development programs, Katia Meave Ferniza.
