…They destroy 93 firearms, 79 magazines, 1,733 cartridges, 61 helmets and 46 warheads
Governor Layda Sansores San Román today witnessed the destruction of firearms seized in various parts of the state territory in previous years, many of which are related to criminal events and are the result of the joint efforts of federal and state institutions to keep the entity as one of the two safest in the country.
The destruction of this weaponry was carried out on the esplanade of the 10th Infantry Battalion and with these actions the three orders of government reaffirm the effort to achieve a Mexico in peace and strengthen the security strategy, which they jointly carry out.
In total, 93 firearms were destroyed, of which 68 are short and 25 long, as well as 79 chargers, 1,733 cartridges, 61 shells and 46 warheads that were seized in operations by the Mexican Army, the Secretary of the Navy, the National Guard, the Public Security and Prosecutor’s Office.
Securing these weapons was possible thanks to the effort and coordinated work between the Armed Forces, the National Guard and the State and municipal Police, as well as the State Attorney General’s Office, since all this is for the benefit of Mexican society and the people of Campeche.
Present at the event were the Secretary of Government, Aníbal Ostoa Ortega; Renato Sales Heredia, state attorney general; Marcela Muñoz Martínez, head of the Secretariat for Citizen Protection and Security; the delegate of the Attorney General’s Office, José Ignacio Coronel Cruz, as well as the commander of the 33rd Military Zone, Hernán Cortés Hernández, among others.
