To urgently provide water to communities in the municipality of Calakmul and serve regions of Carmen and Campeche where liquid is scarce, Governor Carlos Miguel Aysa González gave the starting signal to 10 new tank trucks, purchased with the state’s own resources for almost 18.5 million pesos. The vehicles will also be used to fight forest fires in the state.

Of the total units, five were sent to the municipality of Calakmul, two to Carmen, and the other three will operate through the Secretaries of Public Security and Civil Protection, and the Commission for Drinking Water and Sewerage of the State of Campeche.

Each unit has the capacity to transport 10,000 liters of water, has a reinforced spring system, an additional pump on the top and rear of the tank for supplying and venting water, and equipment necessary for fighting fires.

Around noon, in the parking lot of the Campeche State Center for Comprehensive Rehabilitation (CERI), after leading the event accompanied by the Secretary General of the Government, Pedro Armentía López, and the mayors of Calakmul, Luis Felipe Mora Hernández and Carmen, Oscar Rosas González, the president emphasized that the pipes were purchased with the state government’s own resources and will be used to supply water, as a priority, to the population that suffers from shortages, as occurs in towns in Calakmul.
“They barely reached us and we are starting them up; they already left to do their jobs; brand new the pipes. Calakmul could not wait any longer, Carmen could not wait any longer; we had to support immediately ”, Aysa González remarked when emphasizing that his administration is facing the demands of the people without having to resort to financing, since the money that is invested in the acquisition of equipment and the implementation of actions it is a product of savings and scrupulous management of budgeted resources.
He also commented that in the midst of the health emergency, his government has not stopped working to respond to the needs of the population, such is the case of the urgent supply of water for the families of Calakmul.

He noted that at the same time works continue to be developed throughout the state and although there are some that can already be inaugurated, due to the health recommendations, a better time should be expected.

To conclude, Aysa González urged the population to continue applying hygiene measures and stay at home, because although in general terms the situation of the pandemic in the state is controlled because the majority of people have understood the degree of the health problem , in the municipality of Carmen, special attention is kept due to the oil activity that cannot be stopped.

“We are working hard with them so that this pandemic can be mitigated; but really in the state of Campeche, thanks to the population, thanks to everyone’s understanding, we are fine, «he quoted
