Hecelchakan rain damage assessed
Hecelchakanenses families who were affected by the passage of tropical storm Cristóbal will have all the support to get ahead, guaranteed Governor Carlos Miguel Aysa González when leading the session of the State Council for Civil Protection (CEPC) in this city.
Before, Aysa González flew over the Montebello community for more than 40 minutes, where the most severe flooding in the entire municipality was recorded. From the air, the president was able to verify that in some parts of the town the stagnant waters are already beginning to descend.
For the second consecutive day, the Governor, outside the state capital, led the evaluation of damages directly in the municipalities that had the most damage. Yesterday he was in Hopelchén and today he met with the Mayor of Hecelchakán, José Dolores Brito Pech.
At the meeting he assured that aid for the affected families will continue to strengthen, so that tomorrow his wife Victoria Damas de Aysa, president of the Board of Trustees of the State DIF System, will distribute two tons of chicken in the most affected areas of the municipality and thousand pantries, among other foods.
He highlighted the work carried out by federal agencies and the armed forces, together with state and municipal authorities: “In this state, federal, state or municipal is not managed, here is a team, the Campeche Team, which what they want is the good of the people ”.
Before the commanders of the Third Naval Region, Octavio Trejo Hermida, and of the 33rd Military Zone, Enrique Dena Salgado, and the Secretary General of the Government, Pedro Armentía López, Aysa González emphasized that during this climatological contingency the support of the Army has been essential , the Navy and the National Guard.
For his part, the mayor José Dolores Brito Pech, indicated that with the help of the armed forces throughout the municipality, 12,500 pantries were distributed; In Montebello and Nohalal as the most affected communities, families received more support.
Subsequently, the Secretary of Civil Protection, Edgar Hernández Hernández, explained that in the community of Nohalal the damages that occurred were due to a waterspout that knocked down trees, lamp posts and roofs of many houses, while in Montebello the heavy rains of the tropical storm caused flooding.
The state attorney general, Juan Manuel Herrera Campos, appointed by the governor to deal with the contingency in this municipality, said that in the town of Montebello, the floods affected 83 homes out of a total of 103, as well as streets and a road junction where the water reached 40 centimeters high, preventing the passage of vehicles, in addition 25 people were evacuated from their homes. He added that in Nohalal, damage quantification is pending to begin the reconstruction of the affected houses.
For his part, the national coordinator of the National Guard, Federico Prieto Anota, reported that the body participated in the evacuation of 44 people, 33 adults and 11 minors, as well as in the delivery of pantries and water; meanwhile, the delegate of Conagua, Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Todd, specified that the accumulated rainfall in Hecelchakán, from May 30 to June 8, was 386 liters per square meter, which represents 33 percent for the municipality of the annual average precipitation.
The Secretary of Health, José Luis González Pinzón, mentioned that in the next few days drugs will be supplied to medical units and health centers in the municipality.
He also stressed that despite the fact that the behavior of the pandemic in Hecelchakán has been favorable, since to this day there is only one active case, he recommended not to let his guard down, keep a healthy distance and hygienic measures.
During the session, in general matters, the Secretary General of the Government reported that in the communities of the municipality of Campeche such as Cayal, Usazil-Edzná, Kikab, Melchor Ocampo, Paraíso, San Luciano and Los Laureles, losses were reported in the planting of chihua , before which the Ministry of Rural Development will deliver technological packages and fertilizers to the affected producers, so that they can reconvert their crops.
He mentioned that in the Los Laureles community the drainage work has intensified, but now water from the road that goes to the Cano Cruz ejido begins to drain to the town, so the Ministry of Urban Development, Public Works and Infrastructure (Seduopi) It is taking on the task of implementing other operations to prevent the flooding problem from getting worse.
Finally, he pointed out that personnel from the Ministry of Health have already started fumigation to prevent dengue and chikungunya outbreaks, and as of today the Mexican Army installed a community canteen.
