President Trump hit the links around the time that Joe Biden clinched his bid to take the Oval Office — and was later seen looking glum as he returned to the White House wearing a white “Make America Great Again” cap and clutching his cell phone.
The commander-in-chief looked stone-faced as he headed home rom his Trump National Golf Club in Arlington, Va., where dozens of Biden supporters gathered with signs that read “Good Riddance,” “You’re fired” and “Pack your s— and go.”
Trump spent Saturday morning tweeting up a storm, baselessly claiming that he won the election “by a lot,” and in statement said he was refusing to concede the election which he said was “far from over.”
Meanwhile, congratulations for Biden and running mate Kamala Harris have poured in from around the world and US cities have erupted in celebration, including Washington, D.C., where thousands of people gathered outside the White House.
It’s unclear who delivered the news of his loss to Trump who spent his first day as a lame duck president enjoying a round of golf.
News that the president planned to hit the links was first reported by the White House pool reporter and Trump was snapped huddling with several gold buddies on the links as CNN called the race for Biden.
“Potus wearing white Maga cap, windbreaker, dark slacks, non-dress shirt, shoes that look appropriate for golfing,” wrote Linda Feldmann of the Christian Science Monitor.
