The Ministry of Civil Protection (SEPROCI) announces the weather conditions for this weekend derived from the cold front no. 60 in the Gulf of Mexico. This frontal system will favor changes in the weather conditions in the state and prior to its arrival it will induce rains, especially on Saturday, and on Sunday with moderate to heavy showers in isolation with gusts of wind and electrical activity associated especially in the afternoon and night in various parts of the state. The intensity of the rains and their coverage will decrease towards the beginning of next week with the entry of the Frontal System to the Yucatan Peninsula, leaving only some remnants of precipitation.
This situation will be accompanied by variable wind with intensities between 20 to 35 km / h with gusts of greater intensity throughout this forecast period. There will also be a drop in temperatures with maximums between 31 ° C and 37 ° C and minimums between 18 ° C and 24 ° C.
On the other hand, the weather forecast of the National Meteorological Service, despite the fact that May has started with some rainfall, is expected to have accumulated rains within normal or below normal levels, to later regularize towards June and July with the start of the rainy season expecting accumulated rainfall within normal or slightly above the monthly average for these last two months. At the moment and with this information, the rainy season is expected to start within the usual range.
Regarding temperatures, the National Meteorological Service indicates that the hot environment will continue in the month of May and that for the months of June and July the maximum temperatures are normalized, which may be due to the regulatory effect of temperature generated by the expected rains.
SEPROCI encourages the population to maintain precautions due to the effects of weather variations in the short term and also to keep an eye on official weather and climate forecasts, as well as to follow the recommendations issued by the Civil Protection authorities. For maritime navigation, it is recommended to follow the instructions of your corresponding Harbor Master.
