First state announced in green; this they can do
Campeche is the first state in the Mexican Republic to turn green for the COVID traffic light. Health authorities reported that the COVID-19 epidemiological traffic light turns 15 states in orange, 16 in yellow in the next 15 days.
This epidemiological traffic light for COVID-19 will be in effect as of Monday, September 28 and will apply for two weeks, until October 11.
Ricardo Cortés Alcalá, general director of Health Promotion, asserted that the national map now has only one status in green of the epidemiological traffic light, Campeche, which means that there is little risk for the population, but not null.
“Campeche is the first state to reach the green traffic light, which is the least of the risks, but not zero. This means that the dynamics of the epidemic have diminished enough so that the social and economic activities are returning almost in their entirety ”.
Ricardo Cortés Alcalá, General Director of Health Promotion
What can be done at a green traffic light?
It is allowed to return to school activities, in addition to non-essential ones and the reopening of public spaces. It is expected that at this level a return to normality but maintaining public and occupational health measures, as well as care actions for vulnerable people.
Healthy distance interventions must be strictly followed, depending on the color of the traffic light in which they are located locally.
Failure to do so runs the risk that in places where epidemic activity has not increased substantially, the epidemic may emerge abruptly, with the need to impose more restrictive measures that are not appropriate for public life and the economy.
