As part of the promotion and dissemination activities of the tourist attractions and services that distinguish Campeche, the Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR) headed by Jorge Manos Esparragoza, participated in the First Digital Tourism Tianguis of Mexico on September 23 and 24.

The Tianguis Turístico Digital, arises as a strategy before the reprogramming of the Tianguis Turístico 2020 that would take place in the city of Mérida, Yucatán, last March, but due to COVID-19 it was postponed to 2021.

As the Tianguis Turístico is the most important business forum for this sector in Mexico, the digital edition is held for the first time, as a new alternative to disseminate and publicize the diversity of the destinations that our country has to offer.

For two days, Campeche attended a total of 88 appointments with different national and international buyers, among which are Virtuoso Travel, Ketzaltour, Viajes el Corte Ingles, Native Trail, Viva Zapata, Expedia Inc., Price Travel among others, who showed interest in our products to offer to your customers.

The participation of the State in this event is part of the activities included in the tourist reactivation strategies, instructed by the Governor of the State, Carlos Miguel Aysa González, and that highlight our State as a Safe Destination, since it was the first to pass to the yellow traffic light in this pandemic.

Thanks to the commitment and responsibility of both the government and the tourism sector, since last June Campeche became one of the first six states in the country to obtain the Safe Travel seal, awarded by the WTTC, and safety certifications continue and hygiene as a Clean Point.

It was also highlighted that the Museum of Underwater Archeology was the first to open in the INAH Museum Network throughout the country; and Campeche was one of the first states to open its archaeological zones (Edzná, Balamkú, Dzibilnocac, Hormiguero, Xpujil and Hochob).

Likewise, the Digital Tianguis was used to promote the different attractions and natural, cultural and gastronomy products of the State, such as Palizada «Pueblo Mágico», the observation of dolphins in Isla Aguada, the cenotes of Miguel Colorado and the weaving of hats from jipi japa in the caves of Bécal.

Besides Campeche as Cultural Patrimony of Humanity and Calakmul Mixed Patrimony of Humanity; the best cochinita in all Mexico in Hecelchakán and the important hotel offer for meeting tourism in Ciudad del Carmen and Campeche, the two main cities of our State, which in this second semester will have the arrival of two new airlines (Volaris and Viva Aerobús ) thanks to the management of the head of the State Executive.
