Oaxaca de Juárez.- Governor Layda Sansores San Román participated this Wednesday in the Sixth Extraordinary Meeting of the National Conference of Governors (CONAGO) that took place in this city, and in which the ambassador of the United States in Mexico, Ken Salazar highlighted the work carried out by the governments of four entities in the field of renewable energy, including Campeche.
In fact, Campeche is the only entity in the Peninsula that stands out for its work in the field of renewable energy, since the other entities given as an example by the US ambassador and by John Kerry, the US government’s emissary against Climate Change, are Veracruz, Tamaulipas and Baja California.
Ken Salazar had deferences for the Campechana governor whom he will accompany tomorrow on a visit to the photovoltaic park «La Pimienta», because she told him that «thanks to her leadership there is this 350 megawatt solar plant, which is very important».
Both US officials praised the federal Sembrando Vida program and highlighted the work of the country’s governors on clean energy and the environment, particularly the Sonora Plan and the Tehuantepec Isthmus Interoceanic Corridor in Oaxaca.
