The exhibition of the mural Xibalbá, the Underworld of the Mayans, remains open to the public in the Manuel de la Cruz art gallery of the Campeche Library, the work of the Guatemalan painter, engraver and muralist Rina Lazo, integrated into the artistic heritage of Mexico that it protects. and disseminated by the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (INBAL), through the Museum of the Palace of Fine Arts (MPBA).
Before staying permanently in Mexico City, the masterpiece will be available to the public until July 29, 2024, so it is a great opportunity to visit it in the space located on Calle Ocho between 55 and 57 of the Historic Center. Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The exhibition has been possible with the National Coordination of Visual Arts (CNAV) and the National Center for Conservation and Registration of Movable Artistic Heritage (Cencropam) of INBAL, and the Government of the State of Campeche, under the curatorship of the Palacio de Bellas Museum Arts and art historian Dina Comisarenco Mirkin.

The mural Xibalbá, the underworld of the Mayans has various elements such as jungle vegetation, the ball game, the Mictlantecuhtli and Mictecacíhuatl, which are lords of death in the Mexica culture characterized by their skeletal bodies; They are playing musical instruments. The lake also appears (entrance to Xibalbá).
The Government of Layda Sansores Román, through the Institute of Culture and Arts, seeks to encourage the creation of contemporary art and provide spaces for large works of symbolic importance.
