Following the instruction of the Governor Carlos Miguel Aysa González, the head of the Tourism Secretariat (SECTUR) Jorge Enrique Manos Esparragoza, led meetings with representatives of the associations of Hotels and Motels of Campeche, and Travel Agencies (AMAV) to evaluate the situation of the sector before the pandemic by COVID-19.
The official said that these meetings -organized under the preventive measures indicated by the Health authorities- allowed to concentrate more information on the conditions of the tourist activity, impacted by the health contingency, when the Easter holiday period is getting closer.
Based on the above, meetings are also organized with the three levels of government to reinforce support strategies for the tourism sector that generates 8.7 percent of the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP), he said.
